With the new IOS 14 release for this year, it’s time for you to start bringing your personality to life- I mean on your device with these iPhone home screen organisation ideas.

Finally, Apple has recognised some of the issues and now allows us to have the flexibility in customising our pocket devices to match our personality and interest.

So what are some ways to organise your home screen and HOW?

Well in this post, I’ll share with you some of the important IOS 14 features, my review on it, and some home screen organisation ideas to get some creative juice flowing.

I’ll also be sharing with you how to create app icon covers in IOS 14 and how to set up your iPhone background wallpapers.

What’re the Important IOS 14 features in this update?

  • Home Screen Organisation: Of course, the number one thing from this update is the redesign of your home screen. You can now add widgets and customise them by dragging them or resizing them (small, medium and large).
  • Smart Stack: this is also part of the widget feature and can be used as a widget gallery. It uses “on-device intelligence” (such as location, time and activity) to display features for work, sports, travel, weather and more.
  • App Library: Ok, remember when the apps were all on your home screen and you can’t hide them? Well, now you have an app library where you’re able to store all your apps, organise them and choose to unhide/hide your apps on the home screen.
  • App Clips: You can now use some of the app features without having to download the full version of the app. I have not tried out this feature yet but apparently, you can do things like purchasing a coffee, rent a scooter, etc.
  • Saving Screen: What I noticed from this update is the “incoming calls” shows up as a banner and the “Siri requests” shows up as an icon. It used to take up the whole screen.
    I hope I’m not the only one but I use to get small panics whenever I use my phone and someone calls me (yes I have bad anxiety but also it’s like a small jump scare). Also, Siri shows a small animated icon at the bottom of the screen.
  • Siri is “smarter” now: With the evolution of technology, Siri is now able to answer different questions with info using the internet and can send audio messages.
  • Pin Important Messages & Group Chat Features: Like the Discord app, you can now pin messages by swiping to the right on any chat and also use the “mention feature” (@) when you need to spam someone (hehe I certainly don’t do that…). With group chats, you can now customise using photos, images, and emojis or icons for each person.

To download the new IOS 14, go to your Settings App > General > Software Update. It should show the iOS 14 update right there.

The moment I finished updating, I instantly went to test out the new features included in the new update for September 2020.

IOS 14 now allows you to have the flexibility to customise your pocket device. In this post I'll share with you iPhone home screen organisation ideas as well as tutorials on how to customise your app icons and set up a background wallpaper.

I must admit that I love that I FINALLY get to add my “to-do lists” on my iPhone.

IOS 14 now allows you to have the flexibility to customise your pocket device. In this post I'll share with you iPhone home screen organisation ideas as well as tutorials on how to customise your app icons and set up a background wallpaper.

Even though I had a Samsung Galaxy Phone in the past that can already add widgets to the home screen, Apple finally took the knowledge to do so (and at the right time too).

The apps that I used for my widgets

  • WidgetSmith (IOS) You’re able to customise your widgets (small, medium and large). You can customise it matches your aesthetic theme by the size, colour, font, and type of widget (e.g weather, clock, etc). I use this app for the date and calendar (as seen in my screenshots).
  • Motivation – Daily quotes (IOS) This is the widget where it shows different quotes. I will show you later on in the tutorial what it looks like. Same with the Widgetsmith, you can customise it through small, medium and large widths.
