Importance of a good design
In the 21st century design not only means to make things more attractive or visually pleasing but for it to help us solve our day-to-day problems and a good design especially in graphic design, should make our lives easier. It is a form of communication that requires to be accessible to the public and needs to deliver the objectives required.
Importance of good design in business
In our case, we design in order to inform our audience about our products and to help small businesses also achieve this objective.
A good design must inform, engage and set you apart from your competitors.

Tips on social media design
The first tip is to always set your designs in the right dimensions.
It doesn’t look good when you upload a distorted image on a certain platform. For example, creating an image design using Facebook post dimensions and uploading it on Instagram can ruin your entire Instagram feed, it may look uneven and crops out the edges.
Follow your brand’s visual identity
We previously talked about branding identity. And I can’t emphasize it enough to build one for your brand and follow it. This gives your target audience an idea of who you are and your business.
Make sure to follow the colours and photos that are in line with your content.
And this is why you should create your content in Canva, it will save your templates and allows you to customize all the time.
Don’t upload a photo that’s pixelated or has been overused. In Canva you can find a lot of free stock high-quality images.
Call to Action
You can use “call to action words” on your designs. Since a photo can be the very first thing a person sees, don’t miss out on this opportunity for them to “click” and “follow” you.
Unless you want to blend in the background you need to create a post worth sharing! Design a post that’s easily understood and can evoke emotion. When a post is shared it can reach multiple people and that’s how they will discover your brand.
Instagram is basically the app for aesthetics so be sure to use your best graphic design skills. A quote or meme or creative posts are usually the most shared or loved.
For Pinterest, a clickable design is easily a design that has a clear title or information on the pins. Especially if you’re a blogger who loves sharing your DIY’s and tips on the app. The pin designs should be clear of their content for example in one of our posts.
A story or a highlight can be found on Facebook or Instagram. On Pinterest, it is called an idea pin.
Generally, a story post is moving so utilize this by using video or gifs that relates to your content.
